Tempest

There is a tempest on my mind,

Swirling with the wind.

Livid howls I hear,

through of the chains that bind,

my limbs and my voice,

that civilization has severed

for its own joys.

Storms pushed the waters,

filling up to the brim,

the lids of my eye,

that see the future grim.

But the heart is a relentless thing,

it wants what it does,

tie me down limb by limb

but my spirit shall remain untouched.

I pick my feet up,

wipe the tears off,

haul the chains that have held me down,

for years in the dark depths of Pluto's realm,

as I reminisce the days when all I heard

were empty echoes of the tortured soul.

I finally free myself

marching towards the bright daylight,

as the waters have calmed and the storms die down,

on the rise of twilight
